Counsellors help victims of sexual abuse to process their trauma by understanding the effects, recognizing ways they have coped, dealing with feelings and emotions by finding safe ways to express them. Dealing with shame and guilt and getting rid of self-blame. Counsellors use a safe process to deal with the actual abuse while helping the client to feel grounded and in control of their own process.
Research has shown group therapy can be more effective than individual therapy for many people, particularly if you struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship problems and personality disorders. Group therapy can provide a unique opportunity to explore and become more aware of the ways in which you think, feel and act in relation to others. This process will help you to improve your understanding of yourself and increase your ability to walk in wholeness, healing and have more fulfilling relationships.

P.A.T.H.S (Post Abortion Trauma Healing Services)
Counsellors partner with this organization providing a safe supportive service. Helping the client process the trauma of having an abortion by working through a ten step programme. This programme incorporates (Pre-pregnant woman, the pregnancy, the abortion decision, the abortion the accommodation stage, hurts, anger, forgiveness, the baby, carrying on after the abortion).
