The garden operates under the banner of Hope Community Trust and our vision is to provide a place of connection and a sense of belonging for our community, and to empower people to gain new skills and confidence.
The Community Garden is a connection point for new people to the area with a number of other programmes and services available. There are various programmes that help people visiting the garden to gain self confidence, learn new skills from gardening to harvesting vegetables and fruit. Other activities run in the garden and include a clothing co-op, haircuts, beauty make-overs, cooking classes, a furniture bank, pre-school visits.
There are a number of people who visit the garden on a regular basis some come from specific organisations but we also like to think of it being a welcoming place for casual visitors to just pop in for a cup of tea and a chat. Some have specific jobs in the garden and others are supported we like to think of this place being an all inclusive garden for everyone in our community.
